The Complexity of the Human Eye

With all that our eyes do for us daily, there is great importance in protecting your vision with the best, as 80% of vision problems are preventable.

It is important to protect your eyes whenever you possibly can.

With Dillon Optics, you are protecting your eyes for day-to-day wear with the best. Constructed from CR-39, our NIR® lenses block 100% of harmful UV light and meet the optical and impact resistance requirements of ANSI z80.3. The result is a durable lens with outstanding optics and a unique satin matte finish appearance. We proudly currently produce the clearest polarized lens on the market! Let's not forget to mention we offer this leading-edge technology, style, and comfort in NIRxSport® prescription. To keep you seeing as clear and prevent eye strain!

Other than choosing Dillons NIR® Technology, here are some steps you can take to prevent vision problems

Comprehensive eye exam

Get regular eye exams every one to two years to stay on top of what's going on with your vision, and if you require a prescription, get quality glasses or contacts to avoid straining your eyes and struggling with issues related to poor eyesight! You might think your vision is fine or that your eyes are healthy, but visiting your eye care professional for a comprehensive dilated eye exam is the only way to really be sure.

Always wear sunglasses with quality polarized lenses

Wear sunglasses with quality polarization every time! Constant exposure to UV rays without protection can cause problems with your eyesight that can worsen over time. Wearing sunglasses when exposed to the sun, or even under harsh indoor lighting, can shield your eyes from any potentially harmful rays.

Maintain your blood sugar levels

90% of blindness caused by diabetes is preventable. Ask your healthcare team to help you set and reach goals to manage your blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol—also known as the ABCs of diabetes.

Give your eyes a rest

If you spend a lot of time at the computer or focusing on any one thing, you sometimes forget to blink, and your eyes can get fatigued. Try the 20-20-20 rule: Every 20 minutes, look away about 20 feet in front of you for 20 seconds. This short exercise can help reduce eyestrain. If you have a pair of Dillon Optics frames you love, you can call to ask about getting our glasses made in blue light-blocking lenses!
