Privacy policy

Effective Date: August 17, 2026

Dillon Optics ("we," "our," or "us") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit or make a purchase on https://dillonoptics.com (the "Website"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us

When you place an order, create an account, sign up for our emails or texts, or contact us, we collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Shipping and billing address
  • Payment information (processed by our payment provider; we do not store full payment card numbers)
  • Any information you include in a message to us

Information we collect automatically

When you visit the Website, we and our service providers automatically collect information about your device and how you use the site, including:

  • IP address and general location derived from it (such as city, region, and country)
  • Browser and device type, operating system, and screen settings
  • Pages viewed, products viewed, items added to cart, searches run, and purchases made
  • The date and time of your visit and how long you stayed
  • The website, ad, or link that referred you to us
  • Cookie and device identifiers

2. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies on the Website. These fall into three groups:

  • Essential — required for the site to work, such as keeping items in your cart and keeping you signed in.
  • Analytics and performance — help us understand how visitors find and use the Website so we can improve it.
  • Advertising — used to measure the performance of our ads and to show you Dillon Optics ads on other platforms.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the Website from working. See Section 6 for advertising-specific opt-outs.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Process, fulfill, and deliver your orders
  • Respond to inquiries and provide customer support
  • Send you transactional messages about your order or account
  • Send marketing emails and texts if you have subscribed, and personalize what we send you
  • Measure and improve the performance of our website, products, and advertising
  • Create and deliver advertising, including ads shown to you on social media platforms
  • Detect and prevent fraud, and protect the security of our Website
  • Comply with our legal obligations

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not exchange your personal information for money. We do share it with advertising platforms so our ads can be targeted and measured, which some privacy laws treat as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You can opt out of this — see Section 6. We share information in the following circumstances:

Service providers

We share information with companies that perform services for us, such as our ecommerce platform (Shopify), payment processors, shipping carriers, and customer support tools. They are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.

Marketing and email platform

We use Klaviyo to send our marketing emails and text messages. Klaviyo receives your email address, phone number, name, mailing address, order history, and information about how you browse the Website and interact with our messages — such as products and collections you view, items you add to cart, searches you run, which emails you open, and which links you click.

Advertising and analytics partners

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, which are operated by Meta. To measure whether our ads lead to purchases and to reach relevant audiences, we share information with Meta in two ways:

  • Through the Meta pixel on our Website, which records actions you take on the site, such as viewing a product, adding to cart, or completing a purchase. The pixel may also transmit your contact details in coded (hashed) form.
  • Directly from our servers through Meta's Conversions API. This transmission includes your name, email address, phone number, and location, along with information about the actions you took on our Website. Your name, email address, phone number, and location are converted into a coded value (hashed) before they are sent. Hashing is not anonymization — Meta uses the coded value to identify whether you have a matching account, so that our ad performance can be measured and so that we can build advertising audiences. Some information is sent in unencoded form, including your IP address, your browser user agent, and Meta cookie identifiers.

We also use Shopify's built-in analytics to understand store traffic and sales performance.

Other disclosures

We may disclose information when required by law, in response to a valid legal request, to enforce our terms, to protect the rights or safety of Dillon Optics or others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

5. Email and Text Marketing

We send marketing emails and texts only to people who have subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any marketing email, by replying STOP to any marketing text, or by emailing us at info@dillonoptics.com. You will still receive transactional messages about orders you have placed.

6. Your Advertising Choices

You can limit interest-based advertising in the following ways:

Opting out does not stop you from seeing ads. It limits how they are targeted and measured.

7. Data Retention

We keep order and transaction records for as long as needed to fulfill orders, handle returns and warranty claims, and meet our tax, accounting, and legal obligations. We keep marketing contact information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Website analytics and advertising data are retained according to the retention periods set by the platforms that collect them.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect your personal information. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

You may:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct or update it
  • Ask us to delete it
  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails and texts
  • Ask us to stop sharing your information with advertising partners

To make a request, email info@dillonoptics.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

10. Children's Privacy

The Website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at info@dillonoptics.com and we will delete it.

11. Third-Party Links

Our Website may link to other sites we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated Effective Date. If we make a material change to how we share your information, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you.
